Understanding What a Tune Up Motor Is
Basically, a tune up is a series of checks and adjustments to vital components on a motorbike. Unlike service, the tune up procedure is more detailed. 1. Check Combustion System
First of all, check the combustion system part of the motor. Make sure the spark plugs are still functioning properly and free from deposits. If there is scale or rust, it is better to immediately replace them with new spark plugs that comply with factory specifications.
2. Carburetor Tuning
The next step to tune up the motor is to reset the carburetor. The right carburetor will help improve fuel efficiency. We recommend adjusting the motor carburetor according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Make sure that the mixture of air and fuel is optimal. This is to avoid wasting fuel.
3. Check the Ignition System
Inspection of the ignition system including electricity and coils is also part of a series of tune up processes. Make sure the spark plug cable is still working properly. Make a replacement if it is damaged. On the connected parts, perform cleaning to prevent electrical interference.
4. Cooling System Inspection
Tune up motor also targets cooling system components, whether they can still work properly or not. Check the coolant level, then make sure there are no leaks in the system. Clean the radiator and make sure the fan is functioning properly, as a prevention of overheating.
5. Oil and Filter Change
Clean oil is essential to lubricate the entire engine well. When making a replacement, try to use oil that is in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. In addition, no less important thing is to change the oil filter. Clean oil filter conditions will help prevent excessive friction and maintain engine temperature more optimally.
6. Exhaust System Inspection

7. Air Filter Replacement

8. Tyre Pressure Measurement

The frequency of motorbike tune ups should ideally follow the recommendations in the vehicle owner’s manual. However, in general, tune ups should be done every 6 to 12 months or every 5,000 to 10,000 kilometers, depending on the intensity of motorbike use.
